Sodium Tracker respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Information We Handle

There is no account and no sign-up. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or location. The app handles:

• Your profile and sodium data (sex, age range, daily limit, logged entries, favourites, settings) — stored locally on your device
• Photos you choose to capture of a meal or a product label, when you use photo logging
• Speech you record when you use voice logging, and the text it is converted to
• Barcodes you scan
• Purchase status (e.g., whether premium features are unlocked)
• Apple's vendor identifier for your device, used only for anonymous cost and abuse telemetry. It is not tied to your identity and resets when you remove all of our apps from your device.

2. How the AI Features Work

The app's AI logging features — meal photos, barcode scanning, and voice entry — are optional and turned off until you enable them in Settings. When you use one, the relevant input (the photo, the barcode, or the text of what you said) is sent through our processing service to third-party AI providers so the sodium content can be estimated. Every result is shown to you for review and editing before anything is saved.

This processing is transient: your photos and recordings are used only to produce the result you asked for. We do not store them on our servers, and we cannot browse them. You can turn AI features off at any time in Settings, and the rest of the app continues to work without a network connection.

3. Third-Party Services & Sub-processors

To deliver certain features we rely on the following providers, who process only what is needed for that feature:

• AI providers (DeepSeek, Google Gemini) — process the photos, barcodes and text you submit to AI features to generate a response
• Open Food Facts — a public product database we query when you scan a barcode; we send only the scanned barcode
• RevenueCat & Apple — handle in-app purchases and subscription status
